A full-time student can complete the AAS degree in 18 months or the diploma program in 12 months. Practicing massage therapists and nurses may also choose to take single courses to earn continuing education credits.

Training in massage therapy techniques
At GU/MSB-Lakeville, we teach both fundamental and advanced massage therapy techniques. This is one of the reasons we have excellent placement rates; employers know that our students have received extensive and broad training in many different modalities. In the classroom, at public events and during their externships, students receive extensive hands-on practice in techniques such as the following::

They also receive training in the SOAP (Subjective Objective Assessment Plan) charting method required when massage therapy is part of medical treatment. SOAP allows massage therapists to maintain consistent records in a recognized and approved format. Mastery of this charting technique gives students an advantage—not all massage therapy schools offer SOAP training.
Associate degree students also complete general education courses that strengthen their communication and presentation skills and prepare them to work in an increasingly diverse and complex world.
