Adult Education at our Lakeville, MN, Career College

Thinking about going back to school? Wondering if you’re ready? Wondering how to find a school that fits?

At Globe University/Minnesota School of Business (GU/MSB) Lakeville, adult education is a large part of what we accomplish as a career college. Many of our students have been out of high school for a period of time. In fact, the average age of GU/MSB students is around 27. We believe that our adult students offer diverse perspectives and contribute to a rich educational experience unusual in the traditional college classroom.

Why earn a degree at our career college?

Credit policy

We know that adult students bring a wealth of knowledge and skills to the classroom, and recognize the value of that non-traditional learning by granting credit for prior learning and work experience. There is no charge for credit granted or evaluation of transcripts and documentation of work experience. If you qualify, you may be able to satisfy a significant part of your program requirements through documentation of any or all of the following:

  • Previous college classes
  • Work experience equivalent to a class at our college*
  • AP tests
  • Professional training
  • DANTES or CLEP tests
  • Military transfer credits

Students who receive credit for prior learning or work experiences are able to complete their programs more quickly and with less expense. Our policy is generous—we believe that course-equivalent professional learning can be applied to a student’s educational program, wherever it occurred.

Support for students

Adult education at GU/MSB-Lakeville includes strong academic support. We offer the following services to ensure that all students have opportunities to succeed:

  • Free tutoring
  • Electronic library collection featuring thousands of books and articles
  • Online support system to help with computer problems
  • Student organizations that complement our college programs
  • Writing lab and writing coaching

Programs such as these, when combined with small class sizes and personal attention from instructors, provide a rich backdrop for academic and professional success.
